Samsca is prescribed to raise and maintain serum sodium levels in patients with hyponatremia. Hyponatremia can occur due to various reasons, such as heart failure, liver cirrhosis, syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH), and certain medications.
