Rosuvastatin

Rosuvastatin is primarily prescribed to lower levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), often referred to as "bad" cholesterol. It inhibits an enzyme called HMG-CoA reductase, which plays a crucial role in cholesterol production in the liver. By reducing LDL-C, rosuvastatin helps decrease the risk of developing atherosclerosis (the buildup of plaque in the arteries) and subsequent cardiovascular complications.
