Methylphenidate

Methylphenidate is a prescription medication commonly used for the treatment of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in both children and adults. It belongs to a class of drugs known as central nervous system (CNS) stimulants.Methylphenidate works by increasing the levels of certain chemicals in the brain, such as dopamine and norepinephrine, which play a role in regulating attention, impulse control, and hyperactivity. By enhancing the activity of these neurotransmitters, methylphenidate helps to improve focus, reduce impulsivity, and decrease hyperactivity in individuals with ADHD.
